Docu-Series
Deep Dish
dir. by David Moench
prod. by David Moench & Justin Herrera
Deep Dish is a global documentary series that explores a spectrum of remote and sustainable ecosystems by breaking down local dishes from the heart of their respective communities.
The approach is simple, find one dish within an isolated community and break it down to some of its key ingredients. What one will see is a unique thread that binds communities together through the love and necessity of food.
David Moench and Justin Herrera set out to shoot the pilot episode in the Summer of 2023, with the help of Finnegan Wagner (B-Cam operator) and Charlie Doherty (1st AD and Sound Recordist). Their subject was the people of Lofoten, with a central focus on the restaurant and hotel Holmen Lofoten.
In four days, the crew shot in various locations within Lofoten, locating the main ingredients and their suppliers of a delicious dish created by the head chef at Holmen Lofoten.
With a successful shoot in the bag, Deep Dish is currently in post-production.
